Based in the UK, we operate from two principle locations and maintain strong links with our local communities.
Cradley Heath, in the West Midlands – the home of UK chain making – is where it all began. In 1892, we started manufacturing chain products for the agricultural and marine sectors and have emerged to become a global leader in the manufacture of chain harrows.
Alnwick, Northumberland, is where we established our lifting division in 1989. From Alnwick, we manufacture and distribute our internationally specified chain sling systems and manual hoisting range. We have expanded several times during the last two decades to meet demand for our internationally recognised HA and WH brands.
Global reach
From our bases in the UK, we’ve been working with distribution partners internationally across many industries, supplying goods to markets on every continent. To support the global distribution of products, we now also operate hubs in Singapore as well as Tennessee and Houston in the USA.

From our strong foundations, we’ve built our technical expertise and continued to evolve, innovating to improve the safety and longevity of our products for our customers.
Utilising the latest technology, we conceptualise using CAD, 3D printers and rapid prototyping, developing solutions that are meticulously manufactured and tested by our material and manufacturing experts.

There when you need us
We have the capacity and capability to handle orders of any size, whether a single box or 20-foot container, we’re able to flex to meet your requirements. At Alnwick, our 40,000 square foot warehouse gives us space for a large stock holding, and gives you access to the stock you need, ready to go. We work at scale, producing over 25,000 hoists, 20,000 chain slings, 14,000 harrows and 40 tonnes of swing chain every year, each one with the care and attention to detail you would expect from us.
